Worst. Heroes. Ever.
They weren’t wrong! The best thing about Suicide Squad was Margo Robbie’s portrayal of Harley Quinn, and the development of her relationship with The Joker. I’m not the only one who thinks so either, as there are rumours of Warner Bros planning a Harley Quinn movie! Can’t wait.
Sadly, Suicide Squad was no where near as good as it could have been. It just kind of skipped over the surface and finished before it had a chance to really get into it. The way director David Ayer introduced us to the characters was bland, predictable and wasted way too much air time. Ayer has only directed two other decent movies; End of Watch and Fury. I enjoyed both movies, but they were a totally different ball game to Suicide Squad. Joe Carnahan, who did a fantastic job with Smokin’ Aces, could have given Ayer some great pointers.
The Movie Lad rates Suicide Squad: Two out of a possible five pairs of really skimpy hot-pants.
